This beautiful live oak tree is a sight to behold. Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina has been it’s home for over 200 years. It’s branches reach out wider than the tree is high. It is covered with resurrection ferns that come alive in the early spring and wither in the late summer heat of the southern lowcountry. The spanish moss that drapes it gives it a soft and romantic feel.

This painting was inspired by an aerial view of the marsh. The bright orange and red hues complement the cool blue tones.
